From the Universe to Society

As Director of the Center for Astrophysics and Associated Technologies (CATA), I took part in the “Innovating with Evidence” conference organized by the Ministry of Science’s Emerging Technologies Division, together with SOFOFA and the World Bank. The event presented a new framework for classifying and prioritizing emerging technologies and showcased technology-transfer efforts across private organizations and ANID centers. Tissera highlighted CATA’s work in this area, emphasizing the importance of building bridges between the scientific community, funding agencies, and the productive sector. She noted that these spaces foster shared interests, identify technological applications, and help align communication and timelines—key elements for advancing the transfer of emerging technologies to society.
